The game is based on Hangman, which is a traditional classic game played with paper and pencil, in which one player comes up with a word and the other tries to guess what it is. Each correctly guessed letter is written in all the places where it appears in the word. Each wrong guessed letter is written down for reference and the player is punished for one wrong guess. The game ends when the word is guessed successfully or the player runs out of guesses.
