ClickBook Offline AI Reader

ClickBook is an offline reader for EPUBs and text-based PDFs that turns every book into a language-learning companion. Tap any word while you read, and an AI that runs on your phone explains it.

★ OFFLINE AFTER SETUP, PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Once the AI model is on your phone, reading and word explanations work without internet. Meaning, Translation and Context answers are made on your phone, not in the cloud. ClickBook keeps your books, reading progress and saved words on your phone and does not upload them. No account, no ads.

The one exception is the Ask ChatGPT button (Pro). Only when you tap it does it send the word, the passage around it and the names of the book's language and your mother tongue to ChatGPT, which is run by OpenAI. The first time, it asks you to confirm before anything is sent. It opens the ChatGPT app or your browser, and needs internet.

★ TAP ANY WORD
One tap explains a word in the sentence you're reading, so you get the meaning that fits. In many languages, if the word is part of an idiom, it tries to explain the whole phrase. The word popup has three tabs:
• Meaning (free): the meaning plus three example sentences, written in the book's language (a Spanish book gets Spanish answers)
• Translation (Pro): the word explained in your mother tongue
• Context (Pro): the passage around the word, translated into your mother tongue
The first answer after the app starts takes a little longer while the AI loads.

★ BUILT FOR LANGUAGE LEARNERS
Reading in another language builds vocabulary, as long as looking up words does not break your flow. Tap, understand, keep reading. Pick your mother tongue from 41 languages during setup. ClickBook detects each book's language, and you can change it from the word popup.

★ YOUR WORD LIST
The words you look up are saved in the Vocab tab, one row per word, with the sentence from the book, how often you looked it up and, once the AI has answered, its meaning and examples. You can search your words.

★ EPUB AND PDF SUPPORT
Import DRM-free EPUB files and text-based PDFs from your phone. ClickBook turns a PDF into a book that fits your screen, with a cover made from its first page. Only the text is kept: pictures are dropped, and tables and page layout become plain text. Scanned or image-only PDFs are not supported.

★ INCLUDED CLASSICS
ClickBook comes with three public-domain classics in English: Pride and Prejudice, Little Women and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. A link in the library leads to more public-domain books on clickbook-ai.com, grouped by language.

★ OPTIONAL PRO UPGRADE
Reading, importing, the Meaning tab and the Vocab tab are free, with no daily lookup limit. ClickBook Pro is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks:
• The Translation and Context tabs
• The Ask ChatGPT button
• Custom AI answer order
• Changing your mother tongue after setup
It is not a subscription, so nothing renews. Restore it from Settings with the same Google Play account.

★ DESIGNED FOR READING
Choose from four fonts, text sizes from 75% to 200%, three line spacings and four page colors: White, Sepia, Mint and Dark. Read page by page or in one continuous scroll, in fullscreen, in portrait or landscape. On a tablet, read one page at a time or two side by side. Jump to any chapter from the table of contents, and pick up where you left off.

Requirements: a 64-bit Android device with Android 7.0 or later, and about 1.8 GB of storage for the AI model (keep about 2.4 GB free during setup). The model is a large one-time download (Wi-Fi recommended), and the reader opens once it is installed. Internet is also needed for the optional Pro purchase or restore, and for Ask ChatGPT.
