Choreo Looper does the repeating for you. It holds on to the part you can't get yet, and keeps it coming without you touching the screen.

■ When you need to hear one part over and over

Grab a start and an end point on the waveform and only that stretch plays. When it reaches the end it returns to the start with no gap, so it keeps going hands-free. It counts your repetitions, too.

Need the boundaries tighter? Pinch the waveform to zoom in and nudge each point by 0.1 seconds.


■ When it's too fast for your body

Slow the track to half speed. The pitch stays where it belongs, so the music never sounds wrong. Learn it at 0.75x, take it up to full — tap a preset or type any speed you want.

Missing your entrance? Turn on the count-in. Pick 3, 5 or 10 seconds and it counts you in before the music starts.


■ When the mirror isn't showing you enough

Record yourself dancing with the music playing. In silent mode the original track goes into the video cleanly, with no microphone noise over it.

You can film just the looped section, and play the result back in slow motion to find exactly where it went wrong.


■ When the video should stay yours

No account, no sign-in. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

Your music and your recordings stay on this device. Practice footage isn't shot for an audience.


■ When the phone is on the studio floor

This app was built for glancing at a screen two steps away. The waveform, the numbers and the buttons are all sized for that, so checking something doesn't mean crouching down and breaking your flow.


■ Not only for dancers

Section repeat and speed control work just as well for language shadowing, transcribing a solo, learning a riff, or vocal practice. The pitch holds, so slowing down never puts the notes out of tune.
