About The Mind Guardian

The Mind Guardian is much more than a video game: it is a screening instrument based on Artificial Intelligence and designed for people over 55 years of age. It helps to identify early the first invisible signs of cognitive decline, analyzing every movement, decision and action during the game.

The game is divided into 3 missions of approx. 45 minutes in total. In it, you enter a city that reflects every corner of your brain to, through tests based on traditional socio-health practice and designed with psychometric validity, explore your memory.

Mission 1: A walk to remember
Explore the corners of your mind, where you will see objects, people and places that resonated with it. Then, repeat the route and identify them. Through different routes and elements, your episodic memory will be tested, step by step.

Mission 2: The Circle of Time
Anticipate oblivion by following a ring with your finger, while changing speed and direction. This exercise tests your agility, mental coordination and procedural memory, synchronizing body and mind.

Mission 3: The album of your memories
Relate one of the two images to an important moment in your life. Only one option is correct. This challenge tests and strengthens your semantic memory, helping you preserve your most valuable memories.

The Mind Guardian has been possible thanks to the collaboration of Samsung Ibérica, the Atlantic research center of the University of Vigo, the Galicia Sur Health Research Institute and Innatial Developers SL.

It has the scientific-technological endorsement of the Spanish Society of Neurology and the scientific endorsement of the Spanish Society of Psychiatry and Mental Health.

Available in Spanish, the app is free, accessible and compatible with Android tablets (version 8 or higher), in addition to being validated and optimized for 11-inch devices.

The application requires connectivity to, optionally, share the user's interaction data with the app completely anonymously, for exclusively scientific purposes. This contributes to improving AI algorithms that allow identifying possible cognitive impairments in the research center.
