About Thornlight: Neon Snake
Thornlight is Snake rebuilt for a screen you actually want to look at.
You steer a ribbon of light across a dark grid, collecting lights and growing longer with each one. Swipe to turn, or tap to either side of the head — pick whichever suits you from the menu, and change your mind whenever you like.
Swipe back against yourself and you spend a reverse charge: the whole snake turns around, head becomes tail, and the trap you were about to hit is suddenly behind you. You begin every run with one charge, earn another with each level, and can carry three.
The levels never stop. They only tighten. Thorns start appearing on level two and keep multiplying. Walls arrive on level four. The snake speeds up steadily until it is moving almost twice as fast as it did at the start, and by then you are long enough that the board feels half the size.
You get three lives. Crash, and you respawn with the length you had — the run continues, the pressure does not reset.
Coins earned along the way buy one-use advantages before a run: an extra life, a shield that absorbs your first thorn, or a gentler opening speed. Spend them on the run you think you can push furthest.
WHAT IS IN IT
• Endless escalating levels — thorns, walls, and a speed curve that never quite lets go
• Reverse charges, a way out of the corner you just painted yourself into
• Three lives with length-preserving respawn
• Two control schemes, swipe or tap, switchable at any time
• A coin shop of one-use upgrades
• Original artwork, original sound, an original score that reacts to your run
HOW IT BEHAVES
• Plays entirely offline
• No advertising of any kind
• No analytics, no trackers, no accounts, no sign-in
• Nothing about you is collected or sent anywhere
Optional in-app purchases add coins for the shop. They are never required — every upgrade can be earned by playing.
Thornlight was made by one person at Calnexia Studio. If something feels wrong, write to [email protected] and a human will read it.
