About Navkar Mantra Dhun

Namaskâr Mantra is the fundamental and most recited prayer/mantra in Jainism and can be
recited at any time of the day.It is important to note that the Navkar Mantra does not mention
the names of even Tirthankaras and Siddhas. This mantra simply serves as a gesture of deep
respect towards beings that are more spiritually advanced and to remind followers of the Jain
religion of their ultimate goal of nirvana or moksha.

नवकार (णमोकार) मंत्र का अर्थ
अरिहंतो को नमस्कार
सिद्धो को नमस्कार
आचार्यों को नमस्कार
उपाध्यायों को नमस्कार
सर्व साधुओं को नमस्कार

ये पाँच परमेष्ठी हैं । इन पवित्र आत्माओं को शुद्ध भावपूर्वक किया गया यह पंच नमस्कार सब पापों का नाश करने वाला है ।
संसार में सबसे उतम मंत्र है ।

Meaning of Navkar Mantra - English

Namo Arihantanam: I bow down to Arihanta,
Namo Siddhanam: I bow down to Siddha,
Namo Ayariyanam: I bow down to Acharya,
Namo Uvajjhayanam: I bow down to Upadhyaya,
Namo Loe Savva-sahunam: I bow down to Sadhu and Sadhvi.

Eso Panch Namokaro: These five bowings downs,
Savva-pavappanasano: Destroy all the sins,
Manglananch Savvesim: Amongst all that is auspicious,
Padhamam Havei Mangalam: This Navkar Mantra is the foremost.
