Boroughline

Boroughline is your real-time companion for getting around New York City — subway, bus, LIRR, Staten Island Railway, and Staten Island Ferry, all live, all in one dark-mode app built for how NYC transit actually runs, delays and reroutes included.

Free 3-day trial, then Boroughline Pro (weekly, monthly or yearly). Nearby stays free.

Most transit apps show you a schedule. Boroughline shows you what's actually happening right now, pulled directly from the MTA's live data feeds. Watch trains and buses move across the map in real time, see accurate arrival countdowns at any station or stop, and get instant service alerts before a delay or reroute catches you off guard.

LIVE TRACKING, EVERY MODE
Track live subway positions for every line, city buses across all five boroughs, Long Island Rail Road trains, Staten Island Railway, and Staten Island Ferry sailings — all on one interactive map. No more switching between apps depending on how you're getting somewhere. Boroughline covers the full MTA network in one place.
All 23 subway lines, every borough's bus routes, all branches of the Long Island Rail Road, the Staten Island Railway, and the Staten Island Ferry are covered — one app instead of four.

ACCURATE ARRIVALS
Check real-time arrival boards for any subway station, bus stop, LIRR station, or SIR stop. Times update continuously from live GTFS-real-time data, so what you see reflects what's actually running — not a fixed timetable that falls apart the moment there's a delay.

TURN-BY-TURN JOURNEY PLANNING
Plan a trip from anywhere to anywhere with step-by-step, timeline-style directions, including walking segments to and from stations. Boroughline calculates real transfers and real walking routes, not just straight-line estimates, so you know exactly which platform to head to and when your next train or bus is coming.

NEVER MISS A DEPARTURE
Set a departure alarm and get notified before your train or bus leaves, so you can stay heads-down until the last minute without missing your ride.

SERVICE ALERTS, IN REAL TIME
See MTA service alerts, disruptions, delays, and reroutes as they happen, plus elevator and escalator outage status for every station — essential if you're navigating with a stroller, luggage, or mobility needs.

WHY LIVE DATA MATTERS
Boroughline pulls straight from the MTA's own GTFS-real-time feeds instead of fixed timetables, so what you see is what's actually running, not just what was scheduled.

FIND WHAT'S NEARBY
Boroughline uses your location to instantly surface the closest subway station, bus stop, LIRR station, or SIR stop, so you're never guessing where to walk.

SAVE YOUR ROUTINE
Favorite the stations and routes you use every day for one-tap access, and save full pathways so your regular commute is always a tap away.

BUILT TO BE LEARNED FAST
A quick first-launch walkthrough and short guided tours on every tab show you around the app's key features the first time you visit, so you're never digging through menus to figure out what something does.

DESIGNED FOR NYC, DAY OR NIGHT
A clean, dark-mode interface designed for checking your phone on the platform, at the bus stop, or on the go — easy to read in daylight glare or a dim subway station. Available in 11 languages, including English, Spanish, Chinese, Cantonese, Russian, Korean, Japanese, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese.

Whether you're a daily subway rider, an occasional LIRR or SIR commuter, or brand new to the city, Boroughline turns live MTA data into a fast, clear way to plan and track every trip — start to finish.
