Romanian Whist – card game

Romanian Whist (whist românesc) – the card game as Romanians play it at the table. Not an adaptation: you must trump when you can't follow, the 8-card hands have no trump, and five hands made in a row win a bonus.

♥ THE ROMANIAN RULES
• 3, 4, 5 or 6 players, 8 cards each – the deck fits the table
• Order of hands: 1-8-1 or 8-1-8
• The turned card is trump; the 8-card hands are played without
• The last bidder (the dealer) may not make the bids add up to the cards
• Follow suit; with none of it, you must trump
• A hand made scores 5 + the bid; a hand missed loses the difference
• +10 for 5 hands made in a row, −10 for 5 missed (one-card hands don't count)
• Different at home? Change it in Settings: no dealer restriction, free discards, no bonuses.

♠ FAIR HANDS – CHECK FOR YOURSELF
Before each hand you see the fingerprint (SHA-256) of the seed the cards are dealt from. After the hand you can check it and see everyone's cards. The computer never sees your cards.

♦ OPPONENTS THAT THINK
Three levels: Easy, Medium, Hard. They bid with sense, count cards and remember who is out of a suit – and on Hard they spoil your bid when they can. No cheating.

☀ THE DAILY HAND
Every day one 7-card hand, the same for everyone. You deal, so you bid last – how many tricks will you take? Keep your streak going and share the result.

✎ TABLE SCORE SHEET
Playing with real cards with friends? The phone keeps the score: bids, tricks, bonuses and totals, with the order of hands, whose deal it is and the dealer's rule. A mistake is corrected with a tap. No ads while you keep score.

Ranks from Bronze through Diamond and Grandmaster to a Legend that never ends, and 66 goals – from the first win to thousands of bids made. Your rating rises with every game you finish ahead of the computer. Plus 14 achievements. Your rank never changes the cards or how well the computer plays.
