MotionStage: Play & Pose MMD

Play MikuMikuDance models and motions on your phone — and perform them yourself with the camera.

A complete MMD player: load a model, play a motion, run the physics, add music, and film the result.

Point the front camera at yourself and the model on screen moves with you, in real time and entirely on your device. Record the take and MotionStage writes it out as a standard .vmd file you can open in desktop MMD or load straight back into the app.

MODELS
• Load PMX models straight from a .zip — no unpacking first — or from a folder
• Archives written on Japanese Windows are read correctly, filenames and all
• Keep a library of models and switch between them
• Customize a mannequin of your own: four builds including a big-headed Mini, slim to heavy, six colours, and a number, letters or a picture on the chest and back
• Three slots remember a model along with its physics, colour tone and framing
• Expression sliders for every morph the author exposed

MOTION
• Play .vmd motions with a scrubbable timeline
• Fourteen built-in motions and postures, so there is something to move on day one
• Play along to an audio file of your own, with an adjustable offset
• Bullet physics for hair, skirts and accessories, at three quality settings
• Step whole frames at 30 fps to match MMD exactly, or interpolate for smoothness

MIRROR — play it yourself
• Drive the model with the front camera — body, arms and head
• Move about and the model moves with you
• Your face drives the model's own expression morphs
• Switch to the back camera to film someone else, and the model follows them instead
• Save a recorded take as a standard .vmd file
• Video never leaves your device

VIEW
• Toon shading, adjustable colour tone, fill light and shadows, light or dark backdrop
• Orbit, pinch and pan; optionally keep the camera on the model
• Frame the full body, the upper body or the face
• Share a still of any frame, or record the scene as a video with the music
• On a foldable, panels open beside the model when unfolded; half-folded, the model sits above the hinge and the controls below

MotionStage comes with a poseable artist's mannequin — and a second one with a face, for expression tracking — so there is something to move the moment you open it. Bring your own PMX models and VMD motions for the rest.
