Sonora

Sonora plays the audiobooks you already own. Point it at your MP3 files and it reads the title, author, narrator, cover art and chapter marks straight out of the ID3 tags, then keeps your place in every book down to the second.

There is no catalogue, no store and no account. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is tracked, and once your files are on the device it works with the connection off.

Made to be read to by

Light and dark themes, large tap targets, and a player that stays legible at arm's length in a dark room. Everything is one screen deep: the book you are in is always the first thing you see when you open the app.

Permissions

Sonora asks for access to the audio files you choose, and for permission to keep playing while the screen is off. Nothing else.
