Chaupat Samrat: Ashta Chamma

Four cowrie shells, a 5×5 board, and four sogtī trying to get home. Chaupat Samrat — also known as Ashta Chamma, Chowka Bara, Daayakattam and Katte — is the Indian board game that has been played on courtyard floors for centuries, the same family as Pachisi and Chaupar. Now you can play it with the people you actually know.

PLAY WITH FRIENDS, ONLINE
Tap "Invite friend" and send a link on WhatsApp: your friend is at the same table seconds later. Or enter a room code. Two to four players online, with chat while you play. No account needed to start, and no waiting for strangers, though you can play a random opponent too.

PLAY ON CALL
Talk while you play, the way you did on the floor at home. Tap Call at an online table and your friends join one group voice call: up to four players, everyone hears everyone, with a mute button. Friends watching your broadcast can talk to the table. Calls pause on their own while an ad plays and pick up where they left off.

AN OFFLINE BOARD GAME WHEN YOU NEED ONE
No signal? No problem. Chaupat Samrat is a complete offline board game: play the bots at four difficulties, pass one phone around the table for two to four people, or link two phones over Bluetooth. No network and no account needed.

SIX LANGUAGES AT THE TABLE
English, हिन्दी, मराठी, தமிழ், తెలుగు and ಕನ್ನಡ. Pick yours and the app, the rules and the bots at your table all speak it.

LIVE ROOMS AND FAMILIES
Open a room anyone can join, or sit down with a bot. Make a family with your cousins, then take on another family in quick 2v2 boards, and take the Maharaja League crown each month for the Maharaja set.

CLIMB THE LEAGUE
Win online matches against real players and earn points towards a weekly league, from Clay through Wood, Brass, Silver and Gold to Ivory. Reach the higher divisions and you unlock sogtī that cannot be bought, only earned.

COLLECT BOARDS AND SOGTĪ
Earn coins just by playing: a daily spin, every finished match, every win. Spend them in the shop on new boards and gem sogtī, or send a friend a small gift at the table. All cosmetic. Nothing you earn or buy ever changes who wins.

HOUSE RULES, YOUR WAY
Every family plays it differently, so set it up the way yours does: kill to enter, grace throws, an extra throw on a capture, and jodī pair protection.

LEARN AS YOU PLAY
Never played before? Guided play walks you through your first game: the throws, the safe squares, the crossing, and when to break a pair.
