Mediante la Ordenanza 016 de 2014 la Asamblea del Departamento del Huila autorizó la creación de la CORPORACIÓN que se encargará de coordinar, operar, promocionar, fortalecer, proteger y concurrir en la financiación del FESTIVAL FOLCLORICO, REINADO NACIONAL DEL BAMBUCO Y MUESTRA INTERNACIONAL DEL FOLCLOR.
Por Acta No 1 del 21 de noviembre de 2014 suscrita por la Asamblea Constitutiva se registro ante la Cámara de Comercio de Neiva bajo el No 32555 del libro I del registro de entidades sin ánimo de lucro. El 28 de noviembre de 2014 se inscribe la persona jurídica denominada CORPORACIÓN PARA LA PROMOCIÓN DE LA CULTURA Y EL TURISMO DEL HUILA.
