Wellington Hockey Association runs and manages Hockey in Wellington, NZ
The Wellington Hockey Association has a long and prestigious history and has been in existence for over 100 years. During that time, the men’s and women’s associations were combined. Many of our players have represented their country in Olympic Games, World Championships and International Fixtures beyond count, while the association acquits itself with distinction in national competitions at all levels.
Wellington Hockey Association runs the winter small sticks, secondary school and open grade competitions. These competitions are run at one of our four locations; The National Hockey Stadium in Newtown, Fraser Park in Hutt Valley, Maidstone Park in Upper Hutt and Elsdon Park in Porirua. Home and away games are played with Wairarapa and Kapiti based teams.
Over the summer months a range of competitions are run for the recreational and performance-minded hockey player. These are run at all venues and the competitions are structured to ensure that even players who have never played previously can participate and enjoy our fantastic sport.
