HOW THE CONNECTION WORKS

AltoSignal is designed for devices that stay on and awake, such as a wall-mounted tablet or a phone kept unlocked during a shift. The app maintains a live connection while it is open and on screen. It does not use background push notifications, so a phone that the operating system has put to sleep may not receive a signal until the app is open again.
