That one change reframes the whole classic. Positioning is now aiming: to kill the left column you have to stand under it and stay there, which is exactly where the incoming fire is thickest. Retreating to safety means your shots go into empty space and the formation keeps descending.

The ranks come down a step every time they reach the edge, and they speed up as their numbers thin, so the last few aliens in a wave are always the fastest and the most dangerous. Some rows shoot in a fixed rhythm you can learn; others fire when you line up under them, which punishes camping directly.

Combo is built on unbroken kills. Miss nothing for long enough and the multiplier climbs high enough to change the whole run's score, and the summary reports kills, best combo, waves survived and accuracy so you can see whether you were efficient or just lucky.

The shop swaps the weapon rather than upgrading a number. Spread blasters cover more of the formation, focused lasers punch through several aliens in a column, and rockets clear a blast radius but fire slowly.

Settings adjust the wave difficulty and store the shot feedback preference.
