About Solar System Simulator

This simulation provides a model of our solar system that is accurate in dimensions, space and time.

Includes all planets and all interesting dwarf planets, asteroids, moons and comets in their correct orbits.

At any time you can change the characteristics (size - mass - velocity) of an existing object or add a new object (star - black hole - planet - ...) with the characteristics of your choice. The simulation will then act as a N-body simulation simulating the gravitational effects each object has on each other.

You can for instance see what would happen if you make the moon 10 times heavier or fire off a black hole with a few sun masses in our solar system!

Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ)

What does the Solar System Simulator provide?

The Solar System Simulator provides a model of our solar system that is accurate in dimensions, space, and time.

What objects are included in the simulation?

The simulation includes all planets, interesting dwarf planets, asteroids, moons, and comets in their correct orbits.

Can I change the characteristics of objects in the simulation?

Yes, at any time you can change the characteristics (size - mass - velocity) of an existing object.

Can I add new objects to the simulation?

Yes, you can add a new object with the characteristics of your choice, such as a star, black hole, or planet.

How does the simulation account for gravitational effects?

The simulation acts as an N-body simulation, simulating the gravitational effects each object has on each other.

Can I experiment with different scenarios in the simulation?

Yes, for instance, you can see what would happen if you make the moon 10 times heavier or fire off a black hole with a few sun masses in our solar system.
