About Byte Battle:

Byte Battle is a free-to-play PvP browser game featuring platformer-style maps on which players battle with customizable characters utilizing multiple shooting mechanics in order to overcome their opponents. The Byte Battle game is a new battleground for the NFT Universe where gamers can play for fun and participate in competitive tournaments to win cash prizes through novel compete-to-earn mechanics.

The beta-release of the game will feature quick 3-minute deathmatch-style matches (2-8 players). Matches are currently categorized into 3 different types:
Practice matches
Whitelist matches
Weekly Play And Earn (P&E) tournament matches

The primary goal for Byte Battle is to host a fun and exciting game, enabled with blockchain technology to provide true ownership of game characters and digital items/assets to the players. Taking that a step further, Byte Battle is built to merge with the Metaverse to unlock true cross-IP integration; later allowing any NFT project to enter Byte Battle with approved characters.

Registration:
Byte Battle is Free To Play (F2P) and can be played by anyone with a desktop browser or Android Mobile Device. The current restrictions of the F2P system involve creating/joining Whitelist matches and Player-And-Earn (P&E) weekly tournament matches. More information on those match types later.

Players are able to register an account to get access to the game in various ways:
-(Web2) Signing up with email, username, and password
-(Web3) Connecting a custodial wallet (i.e. MetaMask)
-(Anonymous) Register as a guest, which will not save player data

Cosmetics:
Players are able to customize their character with cosmetics, i.e. helmets, hats, masks, glasses, etc. The cosmetics are a separate NFT collection, and each cosmetic has a limited supply of editions. The cosmetics are for in-game use, and they can also be used to customize character NFTs in the in-game PFP generator. The avenues for obtaining cosmetics outside of purchasing them from the in-game marketplace are still to be defined.

Upgrading:
Players can earn new special weapons and skills during the course of playing the game. In a future release of Byte Battle, these new skills will appear in a skill-tree, which will be unique for each character class. The total number of additional weapons/skills per character is still to be defined.

Along with upgrading in-game weapons and skills, the Byte Battle roadmap includes adding many new game maps. New weapons, skills, and maps are intended to be unlockable content, allowing players to achieve them through the game's ranking mechanics.

The current ranking system is being alpha-tested in order to optimize a player-preferred balance of difficulty VS achievability. The rank system shipping with the beta will include a 10-tier role assignment system based on the total number of kills accumulated. Prior to introducing unlockable content, the rank system may include total match-wins as part of the calculation metric to determine rank.
