Imam Ibn-Faikihani (R.A) narrates a story of a pious and self-righteous man named Sheikh Musa Zareer (R.A) who was on a ship which was on the verge of sinking completely. He fell asleep and had a dream in which Hazrat Mhammad (S.A.W.W) came and told him to make the passengers of the ship recite Darood Tanjeena a 1000 times. The passengers had only recited in for 300 times and the ship was saved miraculously. Another ship on the high seas sank but theirs was saved and they reached their destination safe and sound. This shows that this Darood is a prayer of relief from hardships.
