Joker Crown

Joker Crown is a card duel of nerve and misdirection. Every hand puts three crowns on the table between you and the dealer. You place one card face down on each crown, the dealer does the same, and everything turns over at once. There is no drawing out a long game here. Each hand is a single decision made three times, and you never know which crown the dealer decided to fight for.

The ranking is simple until it is not. The higher card takes the crown. A Joker beats every number on the table, which makes it feel unbeatable, right up to the moment it runs into an Ace. The lowliest card in the deck is the only thing that brings the fool down, so every Joker you play is a bet that the dealer is not holding an Ace, and every Ace you hold back is a crown you are not contesting.

Crowns are not worth the same. Each one carries a value and a suit. Win a crown with a card of its own suit and the points double. When both sides play the same rank the crown is not awarded at all, and its value carries into the next hand, so a stubborn tie can turn a one point crown into a prize worth fighting a whole duel over.

Eight tables wait along the way, from a scrappy alley game up to the Joker Crown itself. Every dealer plays with a different temperament. Some spend their best cards on the richest crown, some hoard suits, and some deliberately throw their worst card where you least expect it. Beat a table and you keep the crowns you won.

Crowns buy Joker Tricks, and you may carry two of them into any duel. Peek turns one dealer card face up before you commit. Ace High lets your Aces beat tens as well as Jokers. Mulligan throws away a bad hand once per duel. Fool's Luck hands you every tied crown instead of letting it carry. Greed turns a suit match into triple points.

Ten achievements follow your career at the tables and a local high table ranks your rating against nine other regulars.

The game is portrait only, runs completely offline, has no purchases of any kind and no advertising. Settings contain a single option to clear your saved data.
