The ArFlat TCC (Theorical Curvature Calculator) project was created as an application to provide people with a calculator capable of quickly, easily, and approximately calculating the distance-based obscuration due to the supposed curvature of the Earth. This calculator allows users to determine the obscuration value between two points over a given distance by approximating the Earth as a sphere, using an average radius of 6371 km (3959 miles).
With this calculator, anyone can compare the quickly calculated result with real observation at a distance, assuming we live on a sphere with a given radius. However, it is recommended to also compare the results against the prevailing model for each observation zone, taking into account the imposed WGS84 (World Geodetic System) model or its regional corrections based on local geographic information organizations.
