Bacon & Brew

No influencers. No sponsored filters. No algorithm pushing you somewhere generic.

Bacon & Brew is the community-built guide to great food and honest pours — venues where the bacon is thick, the craft beer is cold, and the welcome is real.

Find your people. Find your place. Find the bacon.

Discover venues worth going to
Browse nearby spots rated by the community, from neighbourhood breakfast haunts and biltong bars to backyard braai spots and craft taprooms. If it does bacon and brew right, it belongs on the map.

Check in and build your story
Every check-in counts. Return to a spot enough times and you know it. Know enough spots and the community starts to know you.

Earn badges through doing
Your badge is your reputation. Start as a Bacon Explorer and work your way up through Scout, Brew Mate, Pork Pilgrim, Photographer, Chronicler, and beyond. Badges are earned through check-ins, photos, and contributions, never bought.

Become an Area Ambassador
Check in regularly, contribute photos, and earn the trust of the community. The system may nominate you as the Area Ambassador for your patch: one per area, genuinely local, and based on real activity.

Photos of the food, never the faces
Community photos focus on venues, food, drinks, and products. We keep it simple, respectful, and focused on what matters: the plate in front of you.

Built for the love of bacon
Bacon & Brew is free to use. Discover venues, check in, earn badges, and contribute to the map without paying. An optional subscription removes ads, but the community features stay open.

Venue owners can also get listed and support the community through featured placements or Bacon Partner perks.

For the love of bacon.
