About Idle Loom

Loom Idle is a mill you grow one loom at a time.

Start with a single hand loom and a length of warp. Tap to weave, sell what you make, and buy a second loom. Then a shuttle loom, a rapier, an air-jet, a jacquard machine - seven tiers in all, until the floor is crowded and the mill runs whether you are watching or not.

IT RUNS WITHOUT YOU
Production continues while the app is closed, up to four hours' worth. Come back to a full stockpile and a market that has moved on without you.

SELL AT THE RIGHT MOMENT
Fabric has a price, and the price drifts. Sell into a peak and the same stockpile is worth more. Nothing forces you to watch the market - the mill just rewards you for noticing.

UPGRADE THE FLOOR
Twenty-seven yarn upgrades and thirteen Special Projects, each one a real change to how the mill works: faster looms, better prices, more fabric per tap.

DESIGN THE PATTERNS
Every mill needs a pattern to weave, and you draw it yourself - on an 8x8 dobby grid, the same kind of grid a weaver uses to plan a structure. Raise warp ends and the pattern tiles up live above the grid so you can see what you are making. The rules are the loom's own: a float that runs too long is a flaw, and symmetry is worth points. Your draft is graded Plain, Sound, Fine or Masterwork, and a Masterwork pays +50% production for four hours.

START AGAIN, STRONGER
Signing a design clears the floor and hands you back a single hand loom - but you keep your marks, and every mark is +10% production, permanently. Each design you sign is also filed away with its date, its grade, and a note explaining the structure you just drew. The archive survives every reset.
