ROS2 Sensor

Turn your Android phone into a genuine ROS 2 node.

ROS2 Sensor speaks RTPS/DDS natively — no rosbridge, no websocket, no companion computer. Point a stock "ros2 topic echo" at your network and your phone's sensors appear as ordinary ROS 2 topics. The phone IS the node.

Perfect for robotics developers, students and researchers who want a real, moving sensor source in seconds — no wiring, no hardware.

WHAT YOUR PHONE PUBLISHES
• /imu/data — accelerometer + gyroscope + fused orientation
• /mag — magnetometer
• /pressure — barometer
• /illuminance — ambient light
• /gps/fix — GNSS location
• /battery_state — battery level
• /camera/image_raw/compressed — live JPEG camera
• /android/pose — ARCore 6DOF tracked pose
• /android/points — ARCore depth point cloud
• /tf_static — sensor transforms

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
• Native DDS — works with stock Fast DDS out of the box. Verified against ROS 2 Jazzy and Humble with zero configuration on the ROS 2 side.
• No bridge, no host — nothing to install on your robot or PC.
• ARCore pose + depth — your phone becomes a 6DOF-tracked sensor with a live depth point cloud.

Whether you're prototyping a robot, teaching ROS 2, or just need a quick IMU or GPS source in the field, ROS2 Sensor puts a real one in your pocket.
