About Hearth Launcher

Hearth is a home screen for your Android TV: your apps, your own live TV and your house, on one screen built for the remote in your hand.

ONLY WHAT YOU USE

The first time it opens, Hearth asks what you have: Home Assistant, live TV, both, or just your apps. The home screen is built around your answer, and Settings changes it whenever you like. Four themes, Dawn, Day, Dusk and Night, each with a new picture every day.

LIVE TV, BUILT IN

Sign in to your own live TV provider, or add an M3U playlist you already have, and watch right on the home screen: a full program guide, favorites, channel groups, search, and a Recent list of the channels you actually settled on. The guide comes from the playlist itself or from an XMLTV address you type. Playlists and guides must use an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and channels in a playlist that aren't encrypted are left out. Hearth doesn't include any channels or subscriptions.

YOUR HOUSE, ON THE HOME SCREEN

Your rooms from Home Assistant, with their lights, temperatures and camera snapshots, plus the weather and a security summary. The Climate tab puts every room's temperature beside the forecast. You pair once, from your phone.

LOOK, DON'T TOUCH

Hearth sees your whole house and acts on lights, climate, fans and switches, and nothing else. Locks, alarm panels, covers, garage doors, scripts and scenes are shown but never operated, in either direction. They're refused in code, not hidden behind a confirmation.

A TV remote is the least-guarded thing in the house. Guests, children and visitors all pick one up, so Hearth keeps it away from your locks and your alarm.

BUILT FOR THE REMOTE

No pointer and nothing to tap. Hold OK over full-screen TV, or on the House, Media and Climate tabs, for the guide, your lights, sleep, settings and your apps.

No Home Assistant yet? Try the demo house to see what Hearth does, or skip setup and use Hearth for your apps and live TV.

No account. No analytics. No developer server. Hearth connects only to what you set up, and nothing is sent to us.

ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE

Hearth includes an optional accessibility service, off until you turn it on. It keeps Hearth as your launcher in place of the box's own, lets Sleep turn the screen off, and lets Home Assistant pop-ups know which app is showing. It sees which app comes to the front and which buttons are pressed, and passes every press through. It can't read what's on any screen, and nothing it sees is stored or sent anywhere.
