When Central Brasileira de Notícias went on air, on October 1, 1991, there was no other radio with an all news format in Brazilian territory.
The success made CBN become a nationwide network, with the opening of affiliates. One of the first is precisely CBN Curitiba.

CBN debuted in the capital of Paraná on May 5, 1995, becoming the first essentially journalistic FM in the entire state. Maintaining the quality standards of the Globo Radio System, it soon became a space for a plurality of opinions and critical analysis of facts.
