About Bivtrack — Hiking & Bivouac
Bivtrack finds bivouac spots for you along your GPX track.
Import your route and the app reads the terrain: slope, vegetation, distance to water. It ranks the most plausible spots and shows them on your map. No other hiking app does this.
The rest of the preparation lives in the same app: your pack weight down to the gram, day-by-day stages, and a map of your spots.
FIND YOUR BIVOUAC SPOTS
Automatic detection reads your GPX track and surfaces flat, sheltered ground near water. Save your own spots with their position, terrain and legal status. Every spot is private by default: wild bivouacs are never published.
PACK DOWN TO THE GRAM
Build your gear library once, reuse it on every trip. Total pack weight updates live, broken down by category: sleeping, cooking, safety. Import your existing lists from LighterPack in one click. Create several profiles: summer, winter, ultralight.
PLAN YOUR STAGES
Drop a GPX file and see your route on the map. Split it into sensible days based on your pace and the elevation gain, and place a bivouac for each night. Whether you are preparing the Tour du Mont Blanc, the GR20 in Corsica, the Pyrenean Haute Route or a three-day traverse in the Vercors, the logic is the same.
WATCH THE WEATHER
Get an alert if a storm is forecast over one of your planned bivouacs, before you set off.
SHARE
Publish a read-only project, follow other hikers, comment on their routes and their spots. The group pack splits gear between members and removes duplicates: one tent for two, one stove for four.
WHO IT IS FOR
For the hiker heading out for several self-sufficient days, sleeping outside. For the one preparing a first trek who has no idea how many kilometres a day is realistic. For the experienced hiker who wants to stop juggling a spreadsheet, a map and three forums.
FREE FOR THE ESSENTIALS
Unlimited projects, pack preparation, the bivouac map and LighterPack import come without a subscription. Premium lifts the quotas and unlocks multi-stage planning, weather alerts and the group pack.
Bivtrack shows no ads and sells no data. Your GPX tracks and your bivouac spots stay private by default.
Bivouac suggestions come from topographic data and do not account for local regulations, which vary between parks and municipalities. Always check the rules that apply before pitching.
