Hushette: Ambient Noise

A sound machine in your pocket. Every sound in Hushette is made on your device as it plays, so it never loops and never repeats: no seams, no telltale bird every forty seconds.

FIFTEEN SOUNDS, MIXED FREELY
Noise: white, pink and brown. Nature: rain, distant thunder, waves in sets, wind in gusts and lulls, a running stream, crickets at night and a dawn chorus of birds. Home: a fan and a crackling fireplace. Tap any tile to switch a sound on, and set its level with its slider. The thunder rolls at its own pace, the birds take turns, the fire pops now and then.

FOCUS TONES
Binaural beats (for headphones) and isochronic pulses (on speakers too), at four rates from delta to beta. Play them alone or under the rain.

MUSIC
Relaxing music to play alone or under your sounds. Choose Lo-fi, Piano, Guitar, Ambient, Music box or Meditation. Every song is composed as it plays, so nothing ever repeats, and it stays private: no downloads, no network. Presets keep the music too.

A NOISE FOR YOUR ROOM
Hushette can listen to your room for five seconds and shape a noise, Room, to cover what it hears: a fridge's hum, traffic, voices through a wall. Only eight levels are kept; the sound is never recorded or saved.

PLAYS ON IN THE BACKGROUND
Hushette keeps playing with the screen off or in another app, with play and pause in its notification and on your Bluetooth headphones. It steps aside for a call or an alarm and comes back after.

FALLS ASLEEP WITH YOU
A sleep timer fades the sound out over its last two minutes.

PRESETS, WIDGETS AND QUICK SETTINGS
Work, Reading, Sleep, Focus and Storm are ready to go, and any mix can be saved as your own. Start one from a home screen widget, or play and pause from a Quick Settings tile, without opening the app.

MADE WITH CARE
Set how wide each sound spreads in stereo, how long the fades take and how much the sounds drift.

PRIVACY
No network access, no account, no tracking. Nothing leaves your device.
