Beam Lyrics

# Beam Lyrics — Cast Lyrics, Sing Along and Karaoke

Bring music playing on your Android phone to life with synchronised lyrics, floating lyrics, Chromecast TV casting, live singing scores and real-time vocal reduction.

**Get started:**
- **Play music** in a compatible Android app. Beam finds the lyrics automatically.
- **Tap the lyrics** to change views, or **touch and hold** to show floating lyrics over other apps.
- **Cast to your TV** using Chromecast or a compatible Google Cast device.
- **Try Sing Along** to follow your pitch, earn points and compete with friends.
- **Reduce vocals** while casting for karaoke, or open **Guitar mode** for chords and tabs.

No special karaoke tracks, separate music library or Beam account needed.

## Cast music and lyrics to your TV

Enjoy synchronised lyrics on a Chromecast or compatible Google Cast device, with:
- Album artwork and artwork-inspired backgrounds.
- Full-screen karaoke and lyric-focused views.
- Live Sing Along pitch targets and scoring.
- Guitar chords and tabs on your TV.
- Lyric timing and display adjustments.

Lyrics also appear on your phone.

## Floating lyrics — use other apps

Touch and hold lyrics in Beam to display a floating lyrics overlay while browsing or using other apps. Synced lyrics follow the music when available. Requires Android's display-over-other-apps permission.

## Sing Along — pitch tracking and scoring

Beam analyses the original singer to generate melody targets and tracks your singing through your phone's microphone.
- See the target notes and your live pitch.
- Earn points for matching the melody.
- Compete with friends in multiplayer mode.
- Follow scores throughout the song and compare results.

Works with built-in speakers, Bluetooth speakers and Google Cast. External speakers generally give the best results. Detection accuracy varies by song and listening environment.

## Real-time vocal and instrument suppression

Reduce vocals in ordinary songs for karaoke without preparing backing tracks. You can also adjust drums, bass and other instruments (such as guitars, keyboards and synths) independently for music practice.

**Suppression currently works through Google Cast only** because of Android audio capture restrictions. Quality varies by song, and older phones may struggle with real-time processing.

## Guitar mode — chords and tabs

Search for chords and tabs for the song playing, then follow along using Beam's built-in browser.
- Highlight matching lines and automatically scroll supported webpages when synchronised lyrics are available.
- Adjust zoom, scrolling and follow controls.
- Cast chord sheets to your TV in two-, three- or four-column layouts.

Chords and tabs come from third-party websites. Following depends on lyric and webpage compatibility.

## Automatic synchronised lyrics

Beam identifies the playing song and finds lyrics online. Synced lyrics follow the music when available, with manual timing adjustments. Availability and accuracy vary by song.

## Other features

Music playback controls, artwork and karaoke views, audio quality settings, OLED display protection and no in-app advertising.

## Compatibility

Works alongside compatible Android music apps. Audio capture and casting depend on permissions, the music source and receiving device; protected content may not be captured.

TV casting requires Chromecast or a compatible Google Cast device. **Miracast is not currently supported as a Beam casting mode.**

## Privacy

Microphone access is used for user-initiated singing features; audio capture permissions are requested when needed. Floating lyrics require overlay permission. Lyrics are retrieved online, and third-party chord/tab sites may display their own advertising.
