About Hearth Wheel - Pagan Oracle
Hearth Wheel is a quiet oracle and Wheel of the Year companion for the modern pagan path. See where you stand on the wheel, follow the moon, light a candle, and let a ritual card open the day, or sit with a deeper rite when the question deserves more than a glance.
This is not a tarot clone. Every card is written for living pagan practice: seasonal turnings, lunar tides, spell-craft, and the thresholds we cross between who we were and who we are becoming.
☀ The Wheel of the Year, live
A turning wheel on your home screen shows where today falls between the eight festivals, with a countdown to the next one: Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lughnasadh and Mabon. Solstices and equinoxes are calculated to the minute. Set the wheel for the northern or southern hemisphere, and choose fixed or astronomical dates for the cross-quarter days.
☾ The moon, tonight
The current phase and how much of the moon is lit, the exact time of the next new or full moon, and the year's full moons with their folk names, including blue moons.
🜂 Four focuses for every reading
• Sabbat - seasonal turning, harvest, fire, and wheel-time
• Moon - phases, intuition, dream, and hidden ripening
• Spell - directed work, intention, craft, embodied magic
• Threshold - crossing, initiation, leaving, and becoming
🜃 Three spreads, 24 cards
• One Card - a quick ritual signal for the moment
• Threefold Rite - root, work, and offering, drawn as one rite
• Sabbat Rite - release, honour, invite, carry: offered only in the week around a festival
Three cards belong to each festival, from the Yule Log and Brigid's Cross to the Beltane fires and the Last Sheaf. Your daily card leans toward the season you are in and the phase of the moon.
🔥 A page for every festival
Each sabbat has its old roots, drawn from recorded folk custom such as the Beltane need-fire, Bride's bed and the last sheaf, with the source named. Modern practice sits beside it, clearly marked as modern, along with a simple rite you can do at home. A separate moon page covers each phase in modern practice and an old Highland new-moon blessing.
🕯 Blessing of the Day
A short blessing each day from old Gaelic and folk collections: for the hearth, the moon, the road, the morning and the night.
📜 My Book of Shadows
Your own private record: rite logs, moon journal and dreams. Every page is stamped with its season and the moon's phase. Export it as text whenever you like.
🜄 Your archive, and what came of it
Every reading is kept on your device. A week later, Hearth Wheel asks what came of it, so you can see how the wheel's words met your life.
🜁 The widget
Today's card, the next festival and the moon's phase on your home screen, refreshed every midnight.
📰 22 articles
The Wheel of the Year and why its eight festivals are a modern pattern built from older pieces, Samhain, Imbolc and Brigid, Beltane fires, Midsummer, Lughnasadh, the Corn Mother, Yule, blue moons, smooring the hearth fire, Aradia, the southern-hemisphere wheel, and the witch trials told as history rather than myth.
