Atlas of Words in Al-Ayn

This application guides the reader to the linguistic phenomena found in the words of Al-Ayn dictionary by Al-Khalil ibn Ahmad Al-Farahidi (d. 170 AH), with detailed maps showing the locations of each phenomenon, the tribe that uses it, and the regions in which it is prevalent.

Al-Khalil did not specify the locations of all the phenomena he included in his book. Therefore, their locations and the tribes that speak them were deduced from other primary books and sources. Accurate maps were drawn, their boundaries defined according to geographical and regional texts prior to the modern divisions of the Arab world.
