The 18 September Foundation has taken the initiative in Eindhoven to commemorate the 274 Jewish residents of the city who were killed in the Second World War. Small memorial stones, so-called Stumbling Stones (Stolpersteine), were placed in the sidewalk near the house where the victims lived. This contains the name of the victim, the date of death and the name of the concentration camp. In this way, the memory of this horrific persecution in the Second World War is kept alive and we give the victims a name.
With this app you can find the Stumbling Stones in Eindhoven and other cities in the Netherlands. You can search by name, street or city. There is also the option to walk a walking route in the cities along several locations. Stories have been recorded from many locations, with or without images.
If you are also interested in adding your Stumbling Stones to our app, please send an email with your details to [email protected]
