Mobile Money®: chat, shop, pay

Mobile Money® is a mobile wallet for Africa. Its core feature is the automatic tracking of your mobile payment transactions: with your permission, the app reads the transaction confirmation messages sent by your mobile network operator and keeps your balance, your history and your receipts up to date without you typing anything.

**CORE FEATURE 1 - SMS-based money management and financial transactions

Mobile operators & financial institutions confirm every operation (transfer sent, transfer received, withdrawal, deposit, purchase, fees) with a transaction message sent from the operator's short code or sender ID.

With your consent, Mobile Money® reads only those operator transaction messages, on your device, in order to:
- update your wallet balance in real time;
- build, reconcile and de-duplicate your transaction history and your receipts;
- confirm a transfer between two Mobile Money® users by matching the amount and the operator transaction reference on both sides;
- detect fraud: an amount, a reference or a sender that does not match the operation you started is flagged to you.

There is no alternative method to obtain this information: mobile network operators in Cameroon provide no consumer-facing API, so the operator's transaction message is the only record of what happened to your money. Without it the balance and the history cannot be kept accurate. Only
financial transaction messages are processed, on the device. Personal messages are never read, uploaded, sold or shared. You can refuse or revoke this permission and still use the rest of the app.

Permissions used: READ_SMS, RECEIVE_SMS.

**CORE FEATURE 2 - OTP account verification for financial transactions

Before a wallet can be opened and before sensitive operations are authorised, your phone number must be proven to be yours. Mobile Money® verifies it in two ways, both with your consent:
- by SMS: a one-time code SMS is sent to your phone number and filled in automatically (RECEIVE_SMS);
- by call: an automated phone call with a random phone number from our database is placed to your number, and the app reads the call log only to
recognise that verification call, then stops. This method is used where one-time codes by SMS do not arrive reliably, which is common outside the cities. or rural areas. No other call data is read, stored or shared.

Permissions used: READ_CALL_LOG, and ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS to end the verification call automatically so that it stays a short ring.

** CORE FEATURE 3 - offline transactions (AccessibilityService API)

When you have no internet data connection, with your explicit and separate consent, Mobile Money® uses the Android AccessibilityService API to complete an operator transaction step by step. The service follows a fixed, human-defined script, reads only the operator's transaction dialogs, accesses no other screen content, and can be turned off at any time in Settings. It never plans or initiates anything on its own.

- Virtual cards to pay online.
- Airtime, internet data bundles and bill payments.
- Receipts and invoices you can download and verify.
- The old Môgô, a voice AI assistant for in-app support.
