Shadecard: Dye Color Match

Shadecard turns your phone camera into a starting point for the dye house. Photograph a patch of fabric next to a plain white or grey card and Shadecard measures its color, reports the CIELAB values, matches the nearest shade in its library, and gives you a trichromatic (yellow / red / blue) dye recipe with a depth of shade to take to your first lab dip.

It is built for textile dyers, designers, and merchandisers who need to hit a target color and want a defensible, numbers-first place to begin — not a guess.

WHAT IT DOES • Measures fabric color from a three-shot camera burst, with the exposure and white balance locked across the shots for a stable reading. • Corrects the reading against a neutral white or grey reference card. • Reports CIELAB, the closest library shades by ΔE2000, and the shot-to-shot spread so you can see how trustworthy the measurement is. • Builds a Y:R:B recipe and depth band from the matched shade and your chosen fiber. • Suggests tuning nudges from the measured-vs-matched difference, and lets you log lab-dip outcomes so the recipe learns your corrections over time. • Exports shareable recipe cards and printable A4 shade cards for the workshop or WhatsApp.

HONEST BY DESIGN A phone camera is not a spectrophotometer, and Shadecard never pretends otherwise. Every recipe ends in "confirm with a lab dip." When a shot is glared, uneven, or taken without a reference card, the app tells you what went wrong instead of inventing a number. That honesty is the whole point of the name.

WORKS OFFLINE The full shade library and the color engine run on the device. An internet connection is only used for optional extras: an AI second-opinion on a reading, cloud backup of your recipe book, and library updates.
