Official update manager exclusively for AIR³ devices.
CORE PURPOSE: Check, install and update pre-approved apps on AIR³ devices. One of the core feature is therefore to receive app packages.
Once the app is started for the first time, the app will ask the user to give permission to the app to install apps. Without this permission, the app will only display the apps that need to be updated, the user will be able to download the apps but not to directly launch the installation process.
Once the permission is given, the app will launch the installation process once the app is downloaded. To start the download and install process, the user needs to click on the UPGRADE button. Therefore, enabling user-initiated installation of app packages is fully respected.
This app will check the version numbers of the main apps installed on the AIR³ device and those on the server. It will allow users to upgrade any apps that are not up to date. The app can also be set to remind the user to check for updates.

Why REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES is required:
This app's SOLE purpose is to manage app installations on AIR³ devices. Users download app updates from our server and install them via this manager. Without this permission, the app cannot function - it exists specifically to install other apps.
Not for general use: This app only works with AIR³ devices and only installs apps from our official server. It is pre-installed on all AIR³ devices.
