About Googly Eyes Map
Find a bin, a bollard, a fire hydrant or a fence post wearing googly eyes. Photograph it. The app reads your GPS at the moment you take the picture, checks the photo, and drops an anonymous pin on a map the whole world can see.
HOW IT WORKS
Point the camera at real, physical googly eyes stuck to a real object. Not a drawing of eyes, not eyes added afterwards on a phone, not a photo of a screen. The real thing, in the real world.
Every photo is checked automatically before it appears. The check asks two questions and only two: are there genuinely googly eyes attached to something, and is the picture safe to show. When the check is not confident, a person looks instead of guessing.
THE LOCATION IS THE POINT
A pin is placed by your phone's satellite fix, taken as you take the photo. There is no other way. You cannot tap the map, drag a pin, or type coordinates, because a map of things that are really there stops being interesting the moment anyone can put a pin anywhere.
Every pin shows how accurate its fix was, drawn as a circle. A fix worse than 50 metres is refused outright. The map would rather have fewer pins than pins that are quietly wrong.
EVERY PIN IS ANONYMOUS
Pins carry no name, no picture, no handle, and no code that could link two of them to the same person. There is no profile page anywhere in the app. Your own pins are marked as yours, in your own view, and to everybody else they are just googly eyes on a map.
WHAT ELSE IS IN THERE
Browse the whole world, or just what is near you. Get directions to any pin through the maps app you already use. Confirm that a pin is still there, or say that it has gone, so the map ages honestly instead of filling up with eyes that fell off in 2026. Export what you have found as KML or GPX. Collect points for pins that get published, and see where you stand on the chart. The chart shows numbers and countries, never names.
BROWSING NEEDS NOTHING
No account, no sign-up, no email address. Open it and look. You need an account only to post a pin, and you must be at least 16 to do that.
A NOTE ON ADVERTISING
A map that costs nothing to look at has to be paid for somehow, so the app shows one advertisement: a full-screen ad while a photo you have just taken is being checked, which fills a wait that happens anyway. Ads are non-personalised by default, and none ever sits on the map while you browse.

What’s new
Version 2.5.0 · Updated October 31, 2026
Faces are blurred automatically. If a person is in your photo, every real human face is pixelated before the photo goes on the map; faces on posters, statues, dolls and cartoons stay as they are. Terms and Privacy Policy 2.5 describe it, and nothing you agreed to has changed in a way that needs re-accepting. Version 2.5.0.
