Hyves

The friendliest platform in the Netherlands is back! In the 2000s, Hyves was *the* social medium where you stayed in touch with your friends. In an era where everything revolves around likes, followers, and algorithms, Hyves takes you back to basics. Join the fun. Let's Hyve!

Krabbels
Just leaving a quick message on your friends' profiles again, exactly like in the old days. No intrusive notifications or endless voice messages, but reminiscing, sharing an inside joke, or simply wishing someone a happy Wednesday. Uncomplicated, nostalgic, and above all, real contact again with the people you like.

Dancing Banana
Hyves made (moving) emoticons big in the Netherlands. If you got a smiley from someone with all those colored hearts around it, you knew they meant business. And who could ever forget the iconic dancing banana? So fun. They are all back. Let the emojis do the talking. Chronological timelines without algorithms
Knowing what someone is up to without an algorithm deciding for you what you should find interesting and get to see. In your WhoWhatWhere, you share what you are doing, where you are, or what you are thinking—and your friends see that immediately, in chronological order. No sponsored content, no tricks to keep you hooked for as long as possible, just reading along with the daily goings-on of fun people again without any hassle. Exactly as it was meant to be.

Pimp your profile
Get rid of the uniformity of identical profiles. Boring. At Hyves, you turn your own page into a personal party again. Pimp it up! Combine colors like it’s 2007 and set up your page exactly the way you want. Nicely over the top, wonderfully nostalgic, and above all, completely your way. R+R = back
According to the age-old Hyves etiquette, you like and reply when someone takes the trouble to give you digital attention. Refreshing, isn't it? No longer yearning for a like from someone you admire from afar, but knowing that you are seen and appreciated.

Join Hyve groups

From your football club, former classmates, Matcha addicts to a club for people who also hate Monday mornings: Hyve groups consist of people with whom you truly share something. No massive discussions with anonymous trolls, but simply your own clubhouse on the internet. Catch up, organize a reunion, or laugh together at the same lame jokes. Fun and always with like-minded people.

Respect for your privacy and data
Hyves operates on European soil, in accordance with the strictest privacy laws. We only collect what is necessary to keep the platform running smoothly and pleasantly. Your data stays with/belongs to you, your conversations are private, and your profile is for your friends. Just safe online again, without any hidden catches. The only downside to this strict monitoring is that Hyves hasn't saved your old profile either. But that is precisely what makes it fun to rebuild it.

Real connections
Whereas in recent years we were mainly focused on gathering as many followers as possible, we are now returning to real connections. No creepy follow requests from people you’ve never seen, but a network of people you know – what a relief. Hyves is actually a living friendship book. Social, friendly, and just plain fun.

We’re Hyving!
