Safety is where we started, not something we added later. Every reply passes through several independent safety layers before your child sees it. Difficult topics are handled with care, and when something needs a grown-up, Nano encourages children to turn to someone they trust.

We measure safety, too. In our own test runs using KORA's public child-safety benchmark, Nano scored 96%. For comparison, the best any general-purpose AI has scored on KORA's public leaderboard is 70%.
