About Allora: Learn Italian
Allora teaches you real Italian, and it's serious about how you remember it.
At its core is FSRS, the modern spaced-repetition algorithm behind the best flashcard tools, tuned so every word comes back at exactly the right moment, just before you'd forget it.
Built around the 3,000 most-used Italian words and real example sentences, so your time goes on the Italian you'll actually hear and say.
HOW IT WORKS
• A few minutes a day: review what's due, then meet a handful of new words
• Every word climbs a ladder: recognise it → type it in a sentence → produce it from English. "Known" and "mastered" mean something here
• You type real Italian from the start. Harder than tapping word bubbles, and that's exactly why it works
WHAT'S INSIDE
• 24 units from first greetings to B1, with grammar notes in plain words
• Dialogues set like a printed play, with a male and female voice
• Ear training for the pairs your ear can't split yet (casa / cassa)
• Speaking practice: see English, say it in Italian, judge yourself
• Checkpoint quizzes per unit and an overall level check
• A word of the day drawn from what you've actually studied
HONEST PROGRESS
No XP, no gems, no guilt. Words known, words mastered, your streak, your minutes: real numbers only. When a word disappears for two months, that's the scheduler working, not the app forgetting you.
FULLY OFFLINE
No account, no sign-up, no connection needed. Audio uses your device's Italian voice, and your progress backs up to a file you own. Pro is handled by Google Play, not the app.
FREE THROUGH UNITÀ 6
The first six units are free, no strings. A single payment (no subscription) opens the rest of the course, including every unit still to come.
Sentences from Tatoeba (CC-BY). Dictionary data from Wiktionary (CC BY-SA). Word frequencies from OpenSubtitles.
