🎵━━━ USB EXCLUSIVE MODE (BIT-PERFECT) ━━━

The feature this app was built for. Plug in a USB DAC, flip one switch, and SoundWave takes exclusive control of it — your music streams to the DAC exactly as it was mastered, bit for bit.

How it works: Android normally routes all audio through its system mixer, which resamples everything to one shared sample rate and applies software volume — your 44.1 kHz FLAC gets resampled, your 24-bit file gets truncated. In USB Exclusive mode, SoundWave talks to the DAC directly over USB (USB Audio Class 2), bypassing the Android audio stack completely. The DAC's own clock paces the stream, the file's native sample rate and bit depth are preserved, and nothing touches the samples in between. If your DAC has a format indicator, you'll see it follow each track.

• PCM: 16 and 24-bit, all rates your DAC supports (44.1 / 48 / 88.2 / 96 / 176.4 / 192 / 352.8 / 384 kHz)
• Native DSD: DSD64 and DSD128 delivered as DoP — your DAC decodes true 1-bit DSD
• Volume: your phone's volume buttons drive the DAC's own hardware volume over USB, so the digital stream stays untouched. Starts at a safe 50% when you enable the mode.
• Honest by design: EQ, crossfeed, ReplayGain, upsampling and speed are bypassed in this mode — bit-perfect means nothing gets to touch the audio, including us.

Known limits (we'd rather tell you upfront): 32-bit files play at their full depth only if the DAC exposes a 32-bit interface; DSD256 and above exceed the DoP rate of most portable DACs and fall back to high-quality PCM conversion; the mode is opt-in per session (off at every launch) and needs the DAC connected; stereo only. Tested extensively on USB Audio Class 2 dongles — if your DAC misbehaves, tell us and we'll chase it.
