Hooky: Video Hook Check

Hooky is a hook analyzer for short vertical video — TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts. It measures your cut before you post it.

Not a prediction. A measurement: when the audio actually starts, where the first cut lands, how much happens in the first 3 seconds, how long the dead stretches run, and what is readable on screen — Hooky reads the on-screen text itself. Every finding names the value it measured and the threshold it crossed, so you can argue with it.

WHAT THE SCORE IS, AND IS NOT
You get a hook score out of 100, and it is arithmetic rather than a forecast: it comes from the values Hooky measured in your file, against the thresholds you see next to every finding. The same file always gets the same number, and the findings show you line by line where it came from. It does not tell you how many views you will get — nobody has that data, including us.

QUICK CHECK — 1 CREDIT
· First cut and cut rhythm (cuts per second, longest shot)
· Hook motion — how much happens in the first 3 seconds
· Energy front-loading — first 3 seconds against the rest
· Dead stretches, with timestamps
· Audio onset and loudness (LUFS), silence
· On-screen text: is there any in the hook, is it big enough, does it sit under the TikTok/Reels caption overlay
· Aspect ratio and length for a 9:16 feed
· Motion-over-time graph
· Every threshold shown next to its finding

DEEP ANALYSIS — HOOKY PRO
· Reads a handful of still frames from your video and describes what the first 3 seconds actually show
· Lists what is missing from the hook, in timestamps
· A prioritized fix list — what to change first
· Hook ideas grounded in what is on screen
· Before-and-after comparison of two cuts
· A report archive that stays on your device

The same video is never charged twice: the deep analysis includes the report.

WHO IT IS FOR
Creators, editors and marketers who post short vertical video and want to check the cut — hook, pacing, audio, captions — while they can still reshoot.

PRIVACY
One video, not your library. The file is uploaded to be measured and deleted as soon as that finishes. Deep analysis sends only a few still frames, and only after you turn it on. Nothing you send is used to train a model.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
It does not predict views. It does not judge your idea — a well-cut video of a weak concept measures clean. Craft is checkable, strategy is yours.

Hooky runs on your phone, right after the shoot, while you can still reshoot.
