Story of a Soul: St. Therese of Lisieux (audiobook)
Marie Francoise Therese Martin, known commonly as 'The Little Flower', was born in 1873, in France. She was the youngest of five surviving sisters. When Therese was 3, her mother died. Her father moved his family to Lisieux to be closer to his late wife's brother's family. It was there that Therese's sister, Pauline, entered the Carmel at Lisieux in 1882. There Therese heard the Divine Call to religious life. She entered the Carmel that year, after much oppostion to her entering since she was 15. It was there that she wrote L'Histoire d'une Ame (The Story of a Soul) through obedience. In time, Therese's other sisters entered the religious life, one at Carmel and the other became a Poor Clare. Therese died on September 30, 1897, at the Carmel of Lisieux of tuberculosis. She was canonized in 1925.
