The Book of Judith (3rd century BC), is a deuterocanonical book, included in the Septuagint which is included in Catholic and Orthodox Bibles, but excluded from the Hebrew canon and assigned by Protestants to the apocrypha. It relates the story of a Jewish widow, Judith, who uses her beauty and charm to slay an Assyrian general and save Israel from being subjugated.
