Alexander MacLaren's Expositions of Holy Scripture (Trial Version)
Alexander Maclaren (1826 - 1910) was born and died in England where he spent almost sixty-five years a minister.
In 1842 he was enrolled as a candidate for the Baptist ministry in London. In the College he became familiar with Greek and Hebrew which became the foundation for his work as an expositor and for biblical preaching. He was a regular preacher, and in time became a minister at Union Chapel in Manchester. The church prospered and a new building was built to seat 1,500 and even this was not enough. His fame as preacher spread throughout the English-speaking world and he was twice elected President of the Baptist Union.
