The chapter on slaves in Islamic jurisprudence literature occupies quite a long chapter. Bab Mukatab, Bab al-'Itqu, Bab Mudabbar, Bab Umm Walad, Bab al-Wala' are chapters that are often found in classical fiqh books.
It's just that usually the chapter seems like an unfamiliar chapter. It is not uncommon for kyai or ustadz to just skip the chapters above.

Many people also ask, why doesn't Islam forbid slavery? This question seems to want to discredit Islamic teachings from today's perspective.
Slavery is actually a classic problem, meaning it has existed for a long time. Even during the time of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, slavery existed. However, Islam created the Shari'a to free slaves and conversely does not prescribe slavery.
However, if slavery developed later, it was not because of Islam. Slavery, as mentioned above, has existed since before the arrival of Islam.
If we are honest, the wisest method for solving the problem of slavery is Islam. It is said that, because Islam uses methods not revolutionary but evolutionary or gradual.
