Nationally, English lessons for elementary school students are not yet a mandatory subject to be taught. Therefore, schools have decided to add English language lessons to their students and develop various teaching needs independently. Therefore, to implement English language learning, schools must prepare a syllabus, determine teaching materials, evaluate, and build the competence and development of their teachers.

The book My Next Words is the result of careful study, both practical and theoretical, based on observations and experience of teaching English in various regions in Indonesia.

This book pays attention to the rules of language acquisition so that students' ability to listen and respond becomes a priority at the initial stage in lower grades. After students can respond to the language they are introduced to more automatically, teachers can begin to introduce reading and writing which is carried out interactively.

Therefore, My Next Words was developed with a model that initiates contextual language recognition. Through appropriate language of instruction, teachers are expected to be able to attract students' attention to each activity in the early stages of learning. Then, this is followed by guided practice so that students grow in confidence and practice using English more freely. In order for teachers to be able to carry out this interactive learning process, apart from sufficient oral language skills, teachers need teaching materials that help them enable students to interact.

For this reason, the teaching materials that we package in My Next Words provide many worksheets as interaction tools for students. Apart from that, the teaching materials we make have topics that are always in the context of the situation, in addition to introducing students to various simple language patterns as an option.

The book My Next Words uses the principle of recycling in introducing language concepts. Various vocabulary words are repeated and the level of difficulty is added gradually so that the language material studied is stored in long-term memory. In order for learning to occur interactively, the use of gestures and actions by the teacher is absolutely necessary. My Next Words is a solution for teaching English at the elementary school level.
