About Astrophotography Camera

Point your phone at the night sky and press one button.

Astrophotography Camera holds the sensor open, takes a burst of frames, lines them up on the stars and averages them together. Then it develops the result. The sky is lifted out of the shadows where a screen cannot show it, the orange cast of street lighting is taken out, the colour speckle is cleaned up, and the frame is sharpened and enlarged. What comes back looks better than the viewfinder did, which is the whole point of it.

AUTO
One shutter button and nothing to set up. The app reads what your lens can actually do and picks the exposure, the sensitivity and how many frames to stack. It is over in a few seconds, like any other night mode you have used.

PRO
Take over whenever you want to. Exposure, ISO, frame count and manual focus, with a magnified focus check so you can tell whether a star is a point of light or a small blur. Fold the panel away when you want the whole viewfinder back.

WHAT IT DOES WITH YOUR FRAMES
• Lines each frame up on the star field before stacking, so a longer run stays sharp
• Averages them, so the noise cancels while the stars stay exactly where they are
• Replaces the isolated bright specks a warm sensor leaves behind
• Lifts the sky, balances the colour, deepens it, sharpens and enlarges
• Tells you the total light collected and how far the noise actually fell

TONIGHT
A small sky report for wherever you are standing. When it gets properly dark and for how long, where the moon is and how much of the night it will spoil, and one score out of a hundred for whether tonight is worth going outside for. All of it is worked out on your phone.

ALSO
• Zoom, from the real sensor crop all the way up to 1000x
• Red night vision mode, so your dark adapted eyes stay that way
• Every capture kept with the settings and the sky conditions it was shot under
• Framing grid, shutter delay, and a choice of how hard to develop the result

SOME HONEST NOTES
A phone is not a telescope. The moon, the planets, bright star fields and the Milky Way are well within reach. Faint galaxies and nebulae need a genuinely dark sky and some patience. Past the sensor's own zoom limit you are enlarging the picture rather than resolving more detail, and that is worth knowing before you go looking for craters at 1000x. Rest the phone on a wall or a bag and everything improves.

PRIVACY
No account, no sign in, no tracking. Your location is optional and the camera works perfectly well without it. Nothing you shoot leaves your phone, and the position is stripped out of the image file before you share it.
