About Finov.io Accounting & ERP

Finovio is a multi-entity accounting platform for organizations that want a clearer, more connected way to manage their financial operations. It combines the essential tools used by bookkeepers and finance teams with a group structure that keeps each subsidiary's books distinct. Users can work within an individual subsidiary when completing day-to-day tasks, then move easily across the wider organization when reviewing performance or managing shared accounting structures.

At the heart of Finovio is a double-entry ledger that provides a consistent foundation for operational accounting. The platform supports bank reconciliation, sales invoices and supplier bills, customer and supplier records, manual journals, charts of accounts, tax rates, reporting dimensions (up to 10), fixed assets, foreign currency, payroll, and period controls. Transactions flow into a common accounting record, helping teams follow activity from its source through to the resulting journal and financial report.

Bank reconciliation is designed around the work finance teams perform every day. Imported bank transactions can be matched to ledger accounts, open invoices, or transfers between bank accounts. Reconciliation rules can help classify recurring activity, while notes and transaction history retain useful context. Invoice settlements can be handled in full or in part, including supported foreign-currency settlements and the associated realized exchange differences.

Finovio also supports the wider accounting cycle. Teams can raise and track sales invoices and bills, maintain customer and supplier information, prepare and post balanced manual journals, and manage fixed assets from registration through depreciation, adjustment, and disposal. Lock dates help protect completed periods, while reversal-led correction workflows preserve the history of posted accounting entries.

Payroll is fully integrated into the same accounting environment, currently supporting New Zealand and Australia. Employee records, earnings, deductions, leave, retirement contributions, and bank details are maintained per subsidiary, and pay calendars group employees for scheduled runs. Each run calculates gross-to-net pay, including tax, retirement, and both recurring and one-off reimbursements, and produces a balanced journal preview before posting. Approved runs post directly to the ledger and generate ready-to-send payment files, ISO 20022 pain.001 for New Zealand and ABA for Australia, while leave requests, approvals, and a full run history are tracked alongside processing. Posted runs can be rolled back to an editable draft with an exact financial snapshot at any point before payments are marked as sent.

Financial reporting brings ledger information into familiar statements and working reports. Available reports include profit and loss, balance sheet, aged receivables, aged payables, trial balance, general ledger, and cash flow. Drill-down capabilities help users move from reported figures to the underlying accounting activity. Accrual and supported cash-basis views allow finance teams to examine results in the way most useful to their management process.

For groups with more than one accounting entity, Finovio organizes subsidiaries within a company group. Each subsidiary can maintain its own books, bank accounts, contacts, invoices, journals, fixed assets, and lock date. Parent and child relationships, ownership information, and inherited accounting structures help groups maintain consistency without merging every entity into one ledger. Dimensions provide additional analysis by department, branch, division, project, or another structure chosen by the organization.

Access is managed centrally so approved users can enter the company groups and subsidiaries relevant to their role. Finovio also provides developer tools and an accounting API for authorized integrations. Applications request defined scopes and receive access only to subsidiaries approved by the organization.
