Tesla released a standard range rear-wheel drive Model Y and an additional seven-seat, third-row configuration. Using a chassis, interior, and power train from the smaller Model 3, the 2021 Tesla Model Y added extra cargo space, optional third-row seating, and SUV styling at the most affordable end of the brand's offerings.
Early December 2020 came and went without the Model Y crossover, but Tesla ultimately added the third row on the Tesla shopping pages for 2021. Before the Model Y CUV was delivered, Tesla promised that there would be a seventh-row, third-row seating option. Buying an EV is about the range, with the Long Range and Performance models offering a driving range of 326 miles and 303 miles, respectively. Tesla’s Performance Model Y offers the smaller 303-mile range of the EPA, but it can reach top speeds of 155 miles per hour and goes from 0-62 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds. EPA rates our Long-Range Model Y as having a 330-mile range, up 12 miles from that vehicle with the 20-inch wheels. You can download Tesla Model Y wallpapers here.
The Model Y Performance drops that range down to 303 miles in return for a 1.3-second reduction in the zero-to-60 time, a boost of speed that is unnecessary for this car. The Performance Model Y makes up for its range loss with quicker acceleration and higher top rates. Tesla has not released the first-generation Model Y range numbers but reports 5.3 seconds to reach 0-60 mph with the primary long-range option, 4.8 seconds with the long-range version, and 3.5 seconds with the Performance version, which is top-of-the-line with all-wheel-drive.
Even Standard Range models rely on the rear wheels, and while the Tesla Model Y is a crossover, both of its four-wheel-drive variants lack the ground clearance to make it useful off-road. You can expect costs to climb up to around PS60,000 for the Standard Range two-wheel-drive variant, with the Tesla’s performance-laden dual-motor All-Wheel-Drive model topping around PS70,000. As a result of this realization, Tesla gave the world Tesla’s compact crossover in a mid-size body less than two years after the Model 3s arrival. Since Tesla is known for its advanced driver-assist systems, Model Y comes equipped with the driver-assist Autopilot, which includes emergency braking, collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring standard. Tesla is known for their highly advanced semi-autonomous driver-assistance system, Autopilot, and the Tesla Model Y for 2021 offers this capability as standard.
