About Fencing Wallpapers

Fencing is an exciting, contemporary competitive sport that involves the skilled use of the sport's three weapons: foil, epee, and sword. Three different groups of weapons are used in Fencing, and each of the weapons has its own rules and regulations. Three weapons--the epee, the foil, and the sword--are used in Fencing, with individual and team competitions available. The epee and the foil are pointed thrust weapons, whereas the Sabre can also thrust and cut through the blade edges of the sword. Both foils and the epee require that you strike the opponent's point of the blade, whereas, with the Sabre, you may strike from any part of the blade. You can download Fencing wallpapers here.

The Sabre is the only of the three types of fencing swords in which the blade's body counts, in addition to the tip. The Sabre is faster and more robust than epee and foil, and sabre bouts last just seconds, on average. The three disciplines of modern Fencing are foil, epee, and the sword (also Sabre); points are scored by making the weapons touch an opponent. Fencing is one of the oldest modern Olympic sports, having long been divided into the three disciplines, or weapons, based upon a sword for practice. Check our amazing Fencing wallpapers here.

Today, over 120 years later, Fencing has been modernized and continues to be a part of the Olympic program. While its roots lie in training men to battle swords since the 12th century, Olympic Fencing is a modern competitive sport played by both male and female athletes from countries all over the world and has competed at every Modern Olympics game since 1896. One of the original sports included in the modern Olympics, Fencing has accordingly adjusted over time through changing fashions while maintaining all of the romanticism and traditions from those roots.

Although the use of the sword dates back to prehistoric times, and swordplay dates back to ancient civilizations, organized fencing sports did not start until the late 19th century. Based upon the traditional skills of Fencing, Fencing emerged in the late 19th century, with Italian schools adapting Europe's historic martial art, classical Fencing. In contrast, French schools would later perfect the Italian system. Fencing was also growing in popularity in France, where Camille Prevost had assembled the first fundamental congress.

Gameplay Fencing is a sport in which two athletes compete using swords to strike at one another and protect themselves from being hit. Fencing is a game that involves swordplay, with the two fencers trying to touch each other with the point of the sword. It is a fundamental fencing technique, also called a thrust, in which one fencer reaches out their hand to announce an attack on their opponent and attempts to tap the other fencer on the good areas.
