About APOLOGY
his trial for impiety and corruption in 399 BC. Socrates' Apology is a defence to Athens' accusations of "corrupting the youth" and "not believing in the gods in whom the city believes, but in other daimonia that are novel" (24b). The Apology of Socrates is one of four Socratic dialogues, together with Euthyphro, Phaedo, and Crito, in which Plato narrates the philosopher Socrates' final days. It is one of the primary sources about the trial and death of the philosopher Socrates (469–399 BC).
